Guided Play  Build your confidence

Guided play is designed for players who are ready to strengthen their skills for hands-on experience.  You'll play full games with support of an instructor who offers real-time guidance, answers questions and helps clarify strategy as you go.  This session bridges, the gap between learning and independent play by deepening your understanding, improving your confidence and helping you feel truly comfortable at the table

Do I need any Mahjong experience?
Guide play is designed for players who have learned the basics of American Mahjong.

What if I took Mahjong class a while ago and feel rusty?
Perfect. This event is designed to refresh what you learned and help you feel more comfortable playing on your own.
*There will not be formal instruction  at this event.

Do I need to bring a Mahjong set?
Nope. We provide the tiles, racks, mats, and everything you’ll need to play.

Do I need an NMJL card?

Yes. We’ll be using the current National Mah Jongg League card throughout the class. If you don’t have one yet, no worries. Cards will be available to use.

What if I still need help during the game?
That’s exactly what guided play is for. Questions are encouraged and we’ll work through the game together.

What if I have questions after?

Mahjong takes practice, and questions are part of learning the game.
