What if I have never played Mahjong can I take this class? Absolutely! You are perfect for this class.
What is Mahjong? Mahjong is a tile base game similar to rummy where players aim to form winning combinations of tiles.
Do I need to bring my own mah-jongg set? You don't need to bring a thing or maybe just your lucky earrings. We've got the premium Mahjong sets, gorgeous mats, racks and good vibes ready for you. Just show up, sip something fun and let the games begin.
What if I can only attend one of the two nights? Sip • Shop • Shuffle is designed as a progressive two-night experience, with Night 2 building on what you learn in Night 1. You are welcome to attend even if you can make only one night, but the event is priced as a full package and is not prorated.
What is National Mah Jongg League playing card? The National Mah Jongg League playing card is a document that outlines valid winning hands for a specific year published annually by the national Mahjong league.
How many people will play ay a table? Four players per table is ideal but games with two or three worked just fine too still plenty of fun and a great way to sharpen your skills.
Can I come alone? Yes, we will make sure you are placed at a welcoming table.

A current National Mah Jongg League card is needed to play. Cards will be available for learning. or for purchase at the class. This is a one time purchase until next April when new cards are released. We will talk more about this in class. You can also purchase a card from nationalmahjonggleague.org.
